World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Anaheim CA (USA), August 22, 2003 – It was her only gold medal she has never won before, and today Svetlana Khorkina could finally make true what she had always dreamed of: the gold medal in a world championship’s all-around competition: “When my coach told me that I had won, I could not believe it. I honestly did not think that I could do it, but I did it”!

Anaheim (U.S.A) and Saint-Imier (Switzerland), August 21, 2003 - Nadia Comaneci's perfect 10 at the 1976 American Cup at Madison Square Garden has been voted the most memorable moment in time by an on-line poll that pulled in more than 316,000 votes. Comaneci's Perfect 10 moment narrowly edged out 1984 Olympic Champion Mary Lou Retton's five-medal performance by 2,699 votes, or less than one percent. At the 37th World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, the Longines watch company of Switzerland ran its “Longines Perfect 10 Moments In Time” campaign in collaboration with USA Gymnastics. Since February 2003, Internet surfers logging onto www.longines.com and www.usa-gymnastics.org could, out of a selection of 30 memorable moments in the history of USA Gymnastics.
