Valentin Mogilny, 5-time World Champion died in Paris

The Russian Gymnastics Federation announced, that the elegant former gymnats Valentin Victorovich MOGILNY (USR), who won more than a dozen World and European medals between 1985 and 1990, passed away following a heart attack Sunday, November 22 at the age of 49.

Valentin MOGILNY was born 1965 December 18, in central Ukraine,. He was one of the standout figures of the exceptional Soviet teams of the 1980's. His long legs and graceful comportment made him a formidable figure, especially on Pommel Horse, where he won World titles in 1985 and 1989.
