Comment:

Marian Dragulescu (ROM): As per usual, shows his handspring – double front with a ½ twist (10 SV). Step back (9,75). His second vault is a Tsukahara with 2 ½ twists which he almost nails. (9,587). His average is 9,668.

Leszek Blanik (POL): His Tsukahar double pike (10 SV) is a disaster with him stumbling on the landing and the falling. (8,95). He takes a step on his second vault of handspring-double front. (9,475) Average: 9,212.

Charles Leon Tamayo (CUB) : The Cuban vaults an excellent Cuervo with 1 ½ twists (9,712 / 10 SV). He is a bit shaky on the landing of his second vault, a Tsukahara with 2 ½ twists 9,9 SV). 9,537 pts. Average: 9,624.

Yernar Yerimbetov (KAZ) : The Kazakh starts with a handspring – double front (SV 9,8) for which he scores 9,35. His second vault is a double-twisting Tsukahara (9,9 SV) which is worth 9,55 in the end. He goes into third place with 9,45.

Yevgeni Sapronenko (LAT) : A perfect Tsukahara double pike (10 SV) means huge cheers and a 9,80 for the Latvian. His second vault is an equally nailed handspring-double front (9,8 SV) receives a 9,487, a score booed loudly by the audience. Average: 9,643. A medal, but which one?

Alexei Bondarenko (RUS) :Also starts with a Tsukahara double pike, has problems on the landing but still scores 9,537. His second vault is a handspring double front (SV 9,8) and he takes a long run on the landing. Average: 9,456

Tue Lodahl (DEN) : He falls on a triple-twisting Tsukahara (10 SV). Only 9,025. He receives 9,287 for a full-twisting Cuervo (9,6 SV). Average: 9,156.

Igors Vikhrovs (LAT): The last gymnast of this final opens with a Tsukahra with 2 ½ twists (9,9 SV) for a 9,4. He brings this high class final to a close with a handspring-double front (9,8 SV) which he sits down. He scores 8,75 instead of a zero. Still, he is last with an average of 9,075.
