Artistic gymnastics in Germany with record TV audience rating!
The broadcasting of the German TV station “ARD” from the Olympic Games in Athens again reached a very good audience rating on Monday, Aug. 23rd. The market share was 24.9 percent.
The highest audience numbers on this Olympic day were reached by artistic gymnastics with the high bar performance of Fabian Hambüchen and the first interview with Ronny Ziesmer after his accident. About 7.47 million viewers, which means a market share of 29.2 percent, followed the gymnastics broadcasting. This again proves that the TV stations must be wrong with their often mentioned opinion gymnastics is not suitable for TV broadcasts and not interesting vor their viewers!

At the end of the artistic gymnastics and trampoline competitions the gold- and silver medalists performed together with about 120 young gymnasts in the Gala "It happened in Athens".
The title, produced by Manos Hatzidakis, was choosen thinking of the soundtrack of the US movie with the same name which goes about the story of the first Olympic Games in newer history in 1896 and the marathon hero of that time Spiridon Louis.
