Rowa Electronics Corporation Ltd and the Chinese gymnastics
signed a new contract of sponsorship at the Great Hall of the
People in Beijing
The Chinese gymnastics team received
a 2 million yuan (US$240,000) sponsorship on while preparing for
the Sydney Olympic Games 2000, already.
It is the third sponsorship package for Rowa,
who also donated the same amount of money to the Chinese shooting
team and diving team.
Gymnastics is one of China's
strongest talents at the Olympics. Since China's Olympic debut in
1984 in Los Angeles, Chinese gymnasts have won a total of nine
gold, 12 silver and six bronze medals in the past four Olympics.
From 1979 until today, China has produced 35 world champions and
won 61 gold medals at the Olympics, World Championships and World
Cup. China is a gold medal contender in the men's team, parallel
bars, pommel horse, rings and uneven bars and balance beam.
The Chinese Sports Press publishes,
that the Chinese Gymnastics Association has imported Romanian-born
choreographer and former rhythmic gymnast Adriana Pop to
design new floor routines for the Chinese women's national team in
preparation at the Olympics 2004 in Athens. Pop has created over 300 routines in France, Romania, and the USA,
working with such gymnasts as 2000 European floor exercise
champion Ludivine Furnon of France, and 2001 world floor
exercise champion Andreea Raducan of Romania. Pop, who
resides in France, is the first foreign expert to be brought in to
work with the Chinese women's team.

Rowa Electronics Corporation Ltd. und der chinesische
Turnverband unterzeichneten im Großen Volkspalast zu Peking in
diesem Monat erneut einen Sponsorvertrag.
Das chinesische Olympia-Turnteam erhielt bereits in Vorbereitung
der Olympischen Spiele in Sydney 2000 von Rowa eine finanzielle
Unterstützung von 2 Millionen Yuan (ca. 240.00 US$).
Dies ist bereits das dritte Sponsorpaket von Rowa,
das bereits dieselbe Summe für die chinesischen Schützen und
die Wasserspringer zur Verfügung stellte.
Im Turnen verfügt China bekanntlich über die stärksten Favoriten für
Olympia. Seit dem Olympiadebüt 1984 in Los Angeles gewannen
Chinas Turner 9 goldene, 12 Silber- und 6 Bronzemedaillen. Seit
1979 stellte China 35 Weltmeister(innen) und errang insgesamt 61
Mal Goldmedaillen bei Olympischen Spielen, Weltmeisterschaften und
Weltcups, ist amtierender Mannschafts-Weltmeister und im
Mehrkampf und verfügt über aussichtsreiche Kandidaten am
Pauschenpferd, an den Ringen, am Barren und am Schwebebalken.
Wie der Chinesischen Sportpresse weiter zu entnehmen war,
verpflichtete der Chinesische Verband eben auch die frühere
Rhythmische Sportgymnastin und jetzige Choreographin Adriana
Pop, die bislang die Turnerinnen Frankreichs (u.a. Ludivine
Furnon), der USA und Rumäniens (u.a. Andreea
Raducan, Florea Leonida) betreut hatte und über 300
Weltspitzenübungen am Boden choreographierte. Die bisher in
Frankreich lebende Pop ist nun die erste ausländische Expertin,
die im Turnen für China arbeitet. Sie soll nun die Turnerinnen
Chinas besonders am Boden für die Olympischen Spiele in Athen
vorbereiten.
