Fascination Olympics: It starts also for the group from Brazil on Thursday
After the competitions in artistic gymnastics and trampoline have ended now the Olympic events in rhythmic gymnastics will start on today.
Traditionally their competitions, being a highlight of the Games, take place at the end of the Olympics. In Athens RG has been the third event of which the tickets were sold-out – at the end of June 2004...
All competitions take place in the Galatsi Olympic Hall.
The RG competitors have arrived in Athens at the beginning of this week and the excitement before the competition is rising now.
The RG program in Athens consists of two qualfication’s and two final’s days.
On Thursday, Aug. 26th 2004, from 2.30 pm CET on takes place the first part of the qualification (2 apparatus) for the individual gymnasts. The qualification for the groups starts on Thursday at 6.30 pm CET.
On Friday, starting 6.30 pm CET, the second part of the qualification for the individual gymnasts follows. Then it will be decided which of the 24 gymnasts will reach the Olympic final of 10 gymnasts on Sunday.
In the groups’ competition 8 out of the 10 teams will take part in the final on Saturday, Aug. 28th 2004, starting at 3.30 pm CET.
The highlight of the RG- events in Athens - the final of the indiviudal gymnasts - then takes place on Sunday afternoon from 2.30 pm CET on.
