Winner of the 18th International 'Coupe d'Opale 2005 of Rhythmics Gymnastics was the Russian Marina Shpekht with a score of 63,550, followed by Aurelie Lacour (FRA) and Raquel Muro e Silva (POR).
Also the juniors category was dominated by a Russion gymnast: Anastasia Gusev won with a score of 24,267, followed by Maria Yushkevich from Belorussia and Julie Zetlin from USA.

Last weekend the international rhythmic gymnastics calendar 2005 started with the first important event, with the 'Grand Prix Tournament' in Moscow.

So the Grand Prix 'Deriugina Cup - NAFTOGAZ' has to change one week later and will held from March 12 to 13.
Another traditional international event is the 'International Tournament of Cailais in France, which take place from March 11 to 13....

Anna Bessonova of Ukraine won every event at the 11th annual San Francisco Rhytmmic International, held Sunday. Bessonova, the Olympic bronze medalist of Athens 2004 placed first all-around and also first on each of the four apparatus events. Irina Kovalchuk (UKR), won the silver medal in the all-around.
Mexico's Cynthia Valdez won the all-around bronze medal, one event silver medal and three event bronze medals.

Australian Youth Olympic Festival 2005
The Chinese had it all, the array of glittery outfits, well choreographed routines, strength and plenty of flexibility. They no doubt deserved gold, silver and bronze in the final of the rhythmic gymnastics.

From 13th to 15th May the Tournament 'AGF Cup 2005' will take place in Baku (capital of Aserbaijan). It is a major competition in the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup circuit and will take place at the Sports and Concert Complex 'Heydar Aliyev'.
This tournament is the last test before the 27th Rhythmic Gymnnastics World Championship 3rd to 9th October - also in Baku.
