Round 1, qualification:
The British couple presented itself very good in the first routines and in a perfect atmosphere but the laurel

Thoong Coong – Nicola Willia (GBR)

decorated Romans decorated showed exceptional routines. Dragulescu forced the spectators to applause by the storm of difficult elements on floor and his partner Raducan slightly hesitated on beam. Virtually disordered mixed Ukraine-Czech couple entered the competition in a solid manner. Jarosh on floor and Vyoral on rings. The Bulgarians showed big ambitions and of course so did our elite couple Konečný – Komrsková (both on vault). On the other hand the Slovaks could not recover the lost from the pommels routine of Kristof.

The favorites defended their positions in the second half of the first round and the Czech couple (parallel bars-floor) passed to the second round from the second position behind the Romanians and the Bulgarians from the third place.

Round 2, Semifinals:
In this round each couple performed on the third piece of apparatus and the results from the first round were not carried over to this round. The competition took up in graduation. Vyoral and Jarosh fought for finals on vault but the best three did not hesitated. Konečný and Komrsková looked good (floor and uneven bars) and both Raducan with her difficult floor routine and Dragulescu with his vault earned a big applause.

Round 3 - Finals:
Struggle for the interesting main prize (850 Euro) was started by the Romanian couple – on vault (Dragulescu) and on beam (9,550 a 9,400).
They felt that first of all the home couple should attack.  And they did! Konečný presented a very good routine on the high bar and Komrsková confirmed that she belonged to the world top on vault. The waiting for the final results was exciting. The judges decided for the guests but the gymnast representing the home country lost only 0,350 of points (Konečný 9,400, Komrsková 9,200). There is no question they were
good competitors to the shining stars of the world gymnastics!!
