After having injured his knee badly last year, everyone in Cottbus is now
happy that Wajdi Bouallegue from Tunisia is now here as a gymnast
again. His father and coach Mohamed Habib Bouallegue mentions that
this is the first competition after a one-year long break due to the
injury. To start again, he competes only on floor and pommel horse. Even
if not everything has run perfectly, coach and gymnast are satisfied with
the result. Mohamed Habib Bouallegue thinks that the World Cup in Cottbus
is a very important competition as in the startlist of it you can find
gymnasts from the whole World. This gives as well to the coach as to the
gymnast a good opportunity to get experience on the international field
and to learn new things.
The
conditions for gymnastics in Tunisia are not always easy. The 20-year-old
Wajdi Bouallegue from the club Medjerma Sport in Tunis is
currently the only gymnast who can compete on an international level; that
means father and son are like “lonely fighters” from Tunisia at the
moment. |
