All other delegations live in the Athletes village (picture ahead), built for the upcoming European Games next year, just in front of the gymnastics arena. That makes the access to the venue very comfortable, because it can be reached by foot in less than five minutes.
* The Orientation Meeting of UEG
For the head of delegations an orientation meeting took place on Wednesday afternoon in the Fairmont Hotel in Baku, located in one of the three buildings known as “Flame Towers” and the highest buildings in Azerbaijan. The Flame Towers are transformed into gigantic screens in the night, illuminated by more than 10.000 LED-luminaries that create illusions of fire and the Azeri flag.
On Thursday at the opening press-conference the UEG representatives, Georges Guelzec, president of the UEG, and Heide Bruneder, president of the Technical Committee in rhythmic gymnastics, congratulated Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation for their work and the perfect conditions at this year’s European Championships.
