* PREVIEW: European Championships in the Pre-Olympic Year 2011

The 2011 33rd Men's & 32nd Women's European Championships of Artistic Gymnastics in Berlin 2011 are to the fourth time since 2005 (Debrecen) as Individual Continental Championships, organized by UEG.
That means men's and women's all-around finals as well as apparatus finals will take place, however n o team competition is included in the programme.
To the fifth time a German city will host artistic Europeans:
Starting 1957 with the very 1st event in Frankfurt/Main with men's competition and following 1979 in Essen (13th), 2000 in Bremen (24th) now Berlin will be the fifth German host city, because Leipzig organized in 1961 the 2nd European Championships for women, the only one wich was held in GDR ...

* QUALIFICATION (competition I)
Every federation can start with
- up to 6 male gymnasts (up to 4 male gymnasts can start on each apparatus)
- up to 4 female gymnasts (4 female gymnasts can start on each apparatus)

** ALL-AROUND FINAL (competition II)
The all-around finals will be held according to the results of the qualification (competition I) with the best
- 24 male gymnasts & - 24 female gymnasts

*** APPARATUS FINALS (competition III)
The apparatus finals will be held according to the results of the qualification (competition I) with the best
- 8 male gymnasts
- on floor; - on pommel horse; - on still rings
- on vault ; - on parallel bars; - on high bar

- 8 female gymnasts
- on vault; - on uneven bars
- on beam; - on floor exercises
