Mens team and individual qualification: The Battle for the Medals begins now ...!

... because who wants to use his medal chances really needs to pump iron today, acting wise, risking quite a bit, but not all:
- only the top eight of the 12 teams compete in the ultimate team finals of best eight teams for the medals;
- only the top 24 athletes (max. two per nation) occur in the all-around final at the absolute crown of gymnastics;
- only the best athletes of eight per apparatus may compete for medals in the individual final competitions.
Thus have the first day of competition today, as well as tomorrow at the women who provided an outstanding position with character ...
Qualification balance: USA-Boys in front of young Russian,  British hosts and Team German - but the top Asian Top nations, "tremble" is surprisingly through the program ...

Our gymmedia correspondents Ronny ZIESMER (GER), Federic LOPEZ (ESP) and Jop ASHGAIR (GBR) will send their information after the end of each subdivisions!

A total surprise even to many instabilities of the Asian top favorites, both in the first (China), as well as in the second group (Japan).
Both have covered itself with glory yet, but you can expect increases.
And that China is not even a gymnast in the all-around final, is probably a fatal strategic blunder, not just the failure of a nervous man.

Once again proving the men of the United States that their strategy is working: More about Olympia is hosting a team in top form, and Darnell LEYVA (91.265) and John OROZCO (90.597), followed by the British Kristian THOMAS (90.256) lead to the all-rounder rankings.
Despite its many faults is cheating Kohei UCHIMURA aspirant gold with 89.764 but still ahead of Daniel PURVIS (GBR) in fourth. Thus the three-time world champion and Olympic silver medalist from Beijing is still the favorite for gold - if he is the hunted as well, but must present flawlessly!

Krsitian Thomas- “We’ve put in so much hard work for this and to see it pay off like it has today is just so unbelievable. I don’t think I will ever be able to describe the feeling of walking into this arena today and being greeted by that crowd. Personally I’m delighted with my performance but it’s mainly about the team and as a group we are very happy.”

Louis Smith- “Today was all about the team, we are a very tight group and we have been through a lot of ups and downs together so to produce a performance like we have done today is one of the proudest moments of my life. We are all a bit overwhelmed by the support and we are so happy to have gone out and put in such a great performance for everybody here and back home. I was so happy to complete my routine as there was a lot riding on it. I couldn't help thinking about the future, providing for my family, the expectation.”
