At the fourth day of these Worlds the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics School gave proof its dominating roll in the world of rhythmic gymnastics.
At all finals went the all the golden medals to the Olympic Champion Evgenia KANAEVA, who dominated the whole Past-Olympic season, already. She is also the absolutely favorit of the tomorrow's all-around final. The silver medals went to Aliya GARAYEVA from Azerbaijan (ball) and to the Ukrainian Anna Bessonova (ribbon), who also won the bronze with the ball. Third with the ribbon was the Bulgarian Silviya Miteva.
Behind the golden Russians, but with a gigantic difference of nearly 20 points in the Team competition, Belarus won silver and the Ukraine the bronze medal.

Unbeatable Evgenia Kanaeva (RUS) won her third World Gold medal in Mie tonight on Ball.
With perfection and incredible grace Kanaeva (28.575) upped her result from the preliminaries, besting her competition by 1.250 points.

Bulgarian Sylviya Miteva, with 25.750 in the Qualification round and seventh place, upgraded to 26.850 and placed third. The Bronze in Mie is Miteva’s first medal at a world championship, though she boasts a Bronze on Hoop from this year’s World Games.

Georgian Group - ... out of competition!
FIG Office, September 9, 2009: The FIG has informed the Georgian delegation that the 2 gymnasts Martina Grozeva and Romina Bozheloba cannot be allowed to participate under the Georgian flag at the World Championships and at any international event, as long as the FIG Executive Committee has not made a formal decision about the change of nationality. This decision can be taken at the next meeting September 24, 2009, in Lausanne (SUI).
On the other hand, the FIG agrees to exceptionally let the Georgian group participate at the event in Mie out of competition.
It is understood that the Georgian group will start first every time and that the results will neither be shown on the screen nor in the ranking list. The group will also not appear on the start list. However, their performances will be judged and the RG TC President Mrs. Maria Sszyszkowska will give the score to the Georgian delegation.
