* Thursday: Day 4 with the Qualification rounds, Part II - Clubs & Ribbon

Now it´s official: Russia is the old and new world champion!

Since 1995 the Russian gymnasts didn´t miss a gold medal at a team event at world championships, scoring this year at the 31st World Championships in Montpellier 290.275 points ahead of Belarus (272.500) and the Ukraine (269.675).
The team from Azerbaijan placed on the unlucky fourth rank, with 5 points less in the overall score clearly behind the Ukraine, while Bulgaria came on fifth place. They are followed by Uzbekistan, Italy and Korea...

In the evening the apparatus finals with clubs and ribbon will take place in the Park&Suites Arena in Montpellier – another two chances for Evgenia Kanaeva to win gold and complete the hattrick winning six gold medals.

For a whole decade already the co. SPIETH Gymnastic' suppurts the worldwide GYMmedia coverages of all gymnastics disciplines!

Qualification Round, Part II (Clubs & Ribbon II

This Thursday, Evgenia Kanaeva, Daria Kondakova and Alexandra Merkulova, 16 year old newcomer in the Russian squad and 2010 Junior Olympic champion in Singapur – instead of Daria Dmitrieva – showed again their outstanding conditions.

Even if Kondakova and Merkulova had some problems during their performances and scored “only” 28.375 and 28.050 points with clubs, it´s still more than enough to keep the distance to the other teams.
