Saturday evening, September 15, the official opening ceremony of the 28th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships took place at Patras castle.
Before, the participants performed during the second day of podium training at the competition location, Dimitrios Tofalos Hall.
Yesterday the teams from a total of 50 countries were able to familiarize themselves with the conditions in the hall - generally held to be good - during the first day of podium training.

The entire field of participants, including the Russian team with Olympic champion Alina Kabayeva (RUS), the Ukraine with vice world champion Anna Bessonova and the "Grande Dame" Almudena Cid from Spain will be present.
The competitions - the team event and the qualification for the all-round and apparatus finals - will begin on Sunday, September 16th, 10 am, with the teams from Great Britain (rope) and Cyprus (hoop).
