On
floor Fabian Hambüchen (Germany) took the gold ahead
of Croat Filip Ude. As the top scorer from the team competition,
Hambüchen was last up in the final (the finalists are seeded
according to their rank in qualification, i.e. the eighth
qualifier goes first and the top qualifier last). He watched as
Ude threw down the gauntlet with a fantastic routine. The fact
that Fabian was able to compete his best floor routine of the
three days of competition after seeing his rival so strong,
speaks for his mental and physical strength.
Pommel
horse saw a British victory with Louis Smith
in first place. Smith had already made his mark at the
annual Cottbus GWG Cup in the past years. Hungary's Vid
Hidvegi took the silver and Cosmin Popescu (ROM) the
bronze. |
