British victory in the 11th BLUME Team Gym International Cup 2019

On the first day of the International 59th Festival BLUME GRAN CANARIA 2019, the 11th International TeamGym Cup was held in the sports pavilion of the University of Las Palmas on Gran Canaria. In an interesting and exciting comparison, the British team of the "Scarborough Gym" managed the successful cup defense and the ten young girls received as a special prize the invitation of the Canarian organizers for another week-long island stay at the next years's 60th anniversary festival 2020!  But also teams from Slovenia and Italy left a strong athletic impression at these Blume Festival overture!


This 11th International Team Gymnastics Tournament BLUME GRAN CANARIA is one of the highlights of the European Team Gymnastics Circuit for European Championships 2019.
Double doubles, throws and flick-flacks on the tumbling track, spectacular jumps on the mini tramp, acrobatics and attractive choreographies in the floor exercises - the TeamGym participants impressed the audience also with top-class pirouettes!
A lively competition atmosphere was created especially when special difficult jumps and performances were celebrated, loud and dynamic! A total of 20 teams from different countries took part in this cup in the various categories of the competition.
This international TeamGym Cup has been an integral part of the BLUME GRAN CANARIA program for 19 years now. The special aim of this discipline is the combination of the individual sporty profiles to an aesthetic team performance. There is a distinction between female, male and mixed teams. In addition, the competition is offered for groups of 6 to 12 participants as well as for the so-called microteams with a maximum of 4 gymnasts.
