Blume-Chief Jesus TELO, Blume-Ambassador Ronny ZIESMER |
With a festive reception for the representatives of domestic and foreign delegations in the traditional and pompous "Real Club Nautico" of the island capital Las Palmas ended the eventful days of the Festival BLUME Gran Canaria.
Recent conversations, thanks, handing small gifts to the Canary dedicated organizers and appointments for the 52nd 2012 edition were the main contents of the nations together, social gathering at the posh social club in the Canary metropolis.
Very impressed by the atmosphere of this festival a big international gymnastics family, was the now handicaped and former member of the German national team, Ronny Ziesmer, which the Spaniards had been invited in his capacity as a flower-ambassador for the second time.
Even a year after his serious accident in 2005, the Spaniards had Ronny Ziesmer invited as guest of honor.
In a live broadcast from Radio Gran Canaria Ronny ZIESMER was called to an Blume-Ambassador.
In fact, Ronny then uses his many contacts in sport and society of this event, for example, in his meeting with Sir Philip Craven, the President of the Paralympic Committee.
As a result of such contacts Ronny organized also a training camp of British disabled athletes according to their Blume-visiting the following year a training camp of the German national team camp in Kienbaum, near Berlin.
Even Ronny's sponsor, the Department of Special Vehicles of Daimler Benz AG, was delighted with this action and took over the entire bus ...

Ronny ZIESMER: "Now, that I have completed my studies a few days ago, more open spaces there. Now I can and will do my utmost for the propagation of this fascinating Blume-festival idea. How about some top sport clubs would say at the end of the Olympic year would be: We have become so trying to top performance and representation ... now an active coasting would be just right. Why not on a sunny beach of Maspalomas, in the midst of the international gymnastics family of all generations? Since I'm going to play out my relationships with clubs and Atlet can ...!"

Back in 2004, just four months after Ronny's accident before the Olympic Games in Athens, the former junior athlete and current vice-world champion Philipp Boy and former Minitramp world champion Nico Gaertner were with their training group from the SC Cottbus (GER) traveled to the active relaxation ...
<< Wheel chair draiver and -dancer from the University of Munich and sport acrobats from Berlin (TuS Hellersdorf) started in 2004 a solidarity action in support of injured German athlete.
... Ronny today. "I have seen also in this year a great diversity and the positive and coexistence of different age groups and various gymnastic disciplines, very enthusiastic. The Blume-festival promoted communication, creates vitality and thereby has a looseness and informality, which simply is fun.
We felt very well here...!"
At the end of 51. BLUME-FESTIVALS we
have agrreed with the Blume-Chief-Organizer Jesus TELO:
__________________________________________
* GYMmedia -: How do you estimate your start in the second half of this traditional festivals, as to participation, content, the workshops a.s.o ?
* Jesus TELO -: My impressions are promising, although it is currently around the word 'crisis' have written large, again, many groups from Europe to participate in the 51st International Gym-Festival BLUME GRAN Canaria can inspire 2011th
Over 700 participants from 14 countries, plus 300 from five islands of the Canarian archipelago - except the island of El Hierro, which are unfortunately still missing ... and more than 3,800 participants from the main island of Gran Canaria itself - that was another very good success, as a sign for the future, for the second half of the century-Gym Festival.
And what the 51st Festival involved in substance:
More than 34 events, spread over six locations in the island of Gran Canaria, provided an excellent obstacle course for all assets!
Overall, therefore, again more than 1,000 assets in the sporting events participated with enthusiasm and indeed against wonderful and enthusiastic audience scenes!
Even the matinees of synchronized swimming and judo were particular highlights and showed the potential future for the youth.
Similarly, the tournaments of "mental gymnastics", Bridge and TeamGym were well staffed and the 12th time integrated.
In TeamGym we are already part of the European Cup system (5 events) and led for the third time for the Euro Cup TeamGym clubs in the categories of junior and senior. The bridge tournament with more than 125 participants in turn was an integral part of our winter events.
The continuous increase of participants in the 50 + range is a further welcome development since 2005. This area now offers more than 700 participants the opportunity to participate in our extensive program of workshops and demonstrations at the show, which again took place every evening in Maspalomas on two stages.
Highly qualified international instructors from 8 different countries enrich the variety of gymnastic and sports programs.
My special appreciation to the gym with disabilities, the 2011 again with 4 groups and a gym event in the capital of the island, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, simply deserve our admiration and outline their potential for our complex sport than gymnastics more vividly demonstrated.
GYMmedia -: As 50 years have taken effect on the Blume-festival Canaries themselves?
* J. TELO - : The development in the Canary Islands is actually positively sensational!. My father, Jesus Telo Nuñez sen. himself was over 35 years president of the Canary Gymnastics Federation and this historic structure favored an effective dissemination of the idea, did gymnastics until 1985 that a maximum of 8 groups in the Canary Islands and about 700 athletes.
Last 2011 total of 220 groups participated, 165 were from Gran Canaria alone! This is a development of gymnastics in Gran Canaria is just fantastic.
A further example is the 50-plus range, so the age range of the 'Golden Age': By 2000 we were able to report, unfortunately, not participants in this area, although since 1970, eg with the Malmöflikorna, BLUME Gran Canaria outstanding accents and impulses from the central European and Scandinavian countries continued, but the spark was not there really skip.
But today the area is more active seniors over 50 years of driving sports an integral part of our program with an increasing participation, the 2011 was at 350 activists from Gran Canaria even increased. "
GYMmedia -: How do you evaluate the international response?
* J. TELO jr. -: The Festival BLUME Gran Canaria is now firmly anchored in the international gymnastics calendar. For 12 years we have supported the 'European Gymnastics Service "GYMmedia INTERNATIONAL through the effective involvement in its daily news coverage on this website (> www.blume.grancanaria.org).
