53rd Festival Blume Gran Canaria 2013 begins on Friday

Like every year at the end of November: During cold weather over Europe turn thousands of friends to make back in the direction of the warm "Island of Eternal Spring".
To the 53rd time Gran Canaria welcomes the "motion hungry" part of the international GYMfamily to  the unique "BLUME Gran Canaria" Festival.
Named after the four-times Spanish Gymnastics European Champion of the Fifties, Joaquin Blume, it combines already over half a century active guests from around the world and thousands of children, youth and adults of the Canary Islands and the Spanish homeland in the tourist centers of Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles in the south, and in many other locations of this island of lava. Motion, friendly meetings, tension and relaxation, but also some different kinds of competitions make a nice whole of this GYM "Festival with Heart".

The long-term organizers arround its chief Jesus Telo  are also among the founders of the association of "European GYM Festival" (EGF) and are thus part of a global movement and a GYM community of national and international gymnastics festivals, whose network has rapid development rates!

More and more people are drawn in times of modern, but also risky society developments to sporty, meaningful, joyful and healthy movement and life forms in the stand less of power and competition idea, but more the social interaction of like-minded people in the focus.
About 1,000 foreign guests in 55 groups from 16 countries travel to this week - mainly from the Scandinavian and Central European regions as well as from the United Kingdom - to enjoy together with over 3,000 national athletes from Canaries and the 112 groups a special kind of festival week.
Of course, the islands of the Canary archipelago as Lanzarote, Tenerife and La Palma are represented mainly by enthusiastic children and adolescents: To start With "Blume eventer"  - this is something out of the ordinary and is being prepared for long before!


* Matinee "Maspalomas Night" - it will be a very special highlight again, in front of
hundreds of international tourists in the center of Maspalomas in the south of the island

 

Great diversity there will be again when in 35 events in 7 locations, like Arucas, Ingenio, Las Palmas of Gran Canaria, in Mogan, San Bartolomé, Santa Brigida and Telde sports halls are offered event spaces and colorful programs

So it is this unique festival in the European sports and cultural landscape succeeded in recent decades to develop both highly international but also at the same time actively addressing the youth in the schools, and the people in the clubs with.

Namely, the general enthusiasm for sport and the Olympic idea in youth strongly developed, the grassroots of the population in the "best years" is mainly grown in Gran Canaria only by the flower pulses in recent years popular.

-  23. November das IX. Judo Matinee
- 28. November premiere of the 1st Intern Tournament of Rhythmic Gymnastis, and on
- 29,/30 November the traditional 14. Bridge-Open-Tournament 2013.


For over a decade, the European Gymnastics Service "GYMmedia INTERNATIONAL" supports this Festival of Heart,
and also this year we will report about the colors and variety of events from the wounderful island of eternal spring.
