'BLUME' rocks the Island ...!

"Do what you love...!"

<< This T-shirt label could also be a motto of this lovable festival, as you can read this message also from the eyes of the children of the local club "Sataute", who demonstrated their love of movement full of fervor in the show of Santa Brigida de Gran Canaria.
As in this town, the most varied shows and galas were held in another 8 municipalities and also in the capital of the island, Las Palmas, in this BLUME festival week. The BLUME organizers from the capital club "Gimnasio Las Palmas" coordinated everything, sent various foreign programs to the event venues and there to the sports instructors, educators and many helpers put together everything for impressive events ...:

* The village of Santa Brígida with its 18,500 inhabitants is located about 14 km from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The center is located in a ravine with beautiful palm groves, to which the pre-Hispanic name of the place Sataute referred.
Today, in Santa Brígida, the agricultural past mixes with the present as a residential residences, as evidenced by the spectacular villas and houses that conserve elements of traditional architecture.

For a long time, the local school and the sports enthusiasts have allied themselves with the BLUME Festival and perform a show every year, in which many children and young people are involved.
And the festival management sends them to interesting foreign groups, so that the programs are not only enriched, but often also friendly and cooperative relationships with the guests arise.

* For example, there were these dynamic gentlemen from Finland, who in the summer, at a Finnish gymnastics tournament in Turku, had won the trip to Gran Canaria (photo below):

The group "KadonneetPojat" from the university city of Jyväskula, on an 8-men group of the "more mature youth" (age group 50+),
also impressed the student and pupils grades in Santa Brigida!

* The groups of rhythmic gymnastics of the local club "Sataute", in different age groups - between 4 and 14 years old - already represented a contrast, and testified to the variety of possibilities of gymnastic expressions, across the generations:

Canarian Club NÀYADE GIMNASIA RITMICA de San Mateo:

* Danish groups are known worldwide for their high and demanding level of organization.
Adult groups of this kind often and strongly shape the appearance of World Gymnastics, Golden Age Festivals and other gymnastics festivals and of course also found this men's group - Danske Idrætsforeninger - with her age-appropriate power exercise the astonished attention of the younger Spanish spectators in the stands of Santa Brigida:

* The show group of the Oskar Maria Graf-Gymnasium from Neufahrn (Germany) also liked the performances of the foreign guests.
For 18 students this week was an exciting adventure. Under the guidance of Mrs. Altner they had rehearsed a 4-minute choreography on "Phoenix from the ashes", which they skilfully interpreted with their colorful choreography:

... like "Phoenix from the ashes"!
