The dynamic programmes, their colourful diversity and wealth of ideas are what make the festival content so appealing at the various show events: in the island's capital Las Palmas, on the Yumbo stage in Maspalomas, in the southern coastal town of Puerto de Mogan and in four other towns and communities, they once again contributed to the promotion of healthy and life-affirming leisure activities this week. The active participation of schools, sports clubs and student and academic organisations, as well as the involvement of the island's sports-loving population and the international character skilfully brought together by the BLUME organisers through guest appearances by delegations from 12 nations, are what make these complex sporting and cultural events so valuable and have such an immensely positive impact.
* Foreign guests are particularly impressed by the effective cooperation and support provided by the island government, local authorities, their educational institutions and the BLUME organising committee!

SHOW EVENTS of BLUME FESTIVAL 2025
Our GYMmedia photographer Achim SCHAEFER visited some of the impressive shows during this festival week, for example in the attractive harbour town of Puerto de Mogan in the south of Gran Canaria:

Enchanting graces of the "Academia World Entertainment School de Arguenigu"
from the island's capital, Las Palmas;

In sports contrast to this are the ladies of the Danish Gymnastics Federation ...

... and all performed against the backdrop of the enchanting Puerto de Mogan.
In the "Rita Hernandez sports hall" in a district of Las Palmas, the island's capital, there was a buzz of excitement as the young newcomers of gymnastics performed in front of a large audience for the first time:großem Publikum ihren Auftritt hatten:

A performance they will surely remember for a long time!

Santa Brigida is a small Canarian town with around 18,000 inhabitants, located approximately 14 km from the capital. It has a charming town centre and is known for its pottery. The performances by the German gymnasts from the "SKC Tabea" (sports and culture club in Halle, Germany) were also artistically impressive.

A remarkable group of young gymnasts is growing up here, currently in the midst of preparations for the pre-Christmas show ‘Sleeping Beauty,’ which will premiere just one week later at home in Halle.
Even the coach, Laure Marx – former captain of the German National Gymnastics group
– is still in impressive shape herself (front right in the photo, below):

But St. Brigida itself is also home of a strong rhythmic gymnastics club,
whose talented members naturally attracted the full attention of the large audience...:

And wherever they performed: for almost two decades, the ‘Golden Ladies’ from
Sweden in Scandinavia have been thrilling audiences with their rhythmic and atmospheric performances, often getting them to sway along.
Whether in Telde, the second largest city in the Canary Islands, or in Ingenio:
BLUME Gran Canaria's festival concept has been a hit everywhere, and not just for the moment or the day of the show: Throughout the whole year, movement is taught and practised (!) in schools and educational institutions. This is where ideas are born and processes are practised, meaning that sport is truly lived throughout the year!
.
That's precisely why the BLUME Festival is now in its seventh decade and so successful!
So it's not just the hosts who are looking forward to the
→ 64th edition at the end of November 2026
