For all those people in their ‘golden years’, i.e. those in the ‘prime of life’, this is an absolute active holiday tip:
If you want to not only seek out the sun during this rather inhospitable time in Central Europe, but also want to exercise actively under professional guidance:
<< The WORKSHOPS of the international BLUME Festival here in Maspalomas, on the sunny island of Gran Canaria, offer the best opportunities!
For three days, in this first week of December, you can get moving under expert guidance in a way that is best suited to your age:

♦ A typical BLUME beach morning ...
Who better to look after visitors to the golden beach of Playa del Inglés than Ute Messer-Zingler, the German lecturer from Heidekreis, who runs courses on brainwalking in her home region of Lueneburg Heath and asks the question:
"Have you ever noticed that the best ideas come to you when you are walking and moving, the best ideas come to you?
.
This is not only due to the fresh air and improved blood circulation, but also to the movement itself! Not only brainwalking (preferably with walking sticks) ensures this, but also intensive beach gymnastics, because it intensively combines physical actions with thinking and perception tasks – body a n d mind get going better!

The 2025 BLUME Festival newcomers from Switzerland were also strongly represented here, cheered on by Ute Messer-Zingler on a sunny morning just a few metres from their Beverly Park Hotel. Unfortunately, the stronger sex was represented by only two gentlemen. But no one on site could really explain why...?!

♦ Workshop zum Thema " Q I - G O N G "
Everyone has probably heard of it, but what exactly is ‘Qi-Gong’?
Qi-Gong is an element of the traditional Chinese movement art Tai Chi. It combines flowing movements with meditation and breathing exercises. Qi Gong can improve lung function and reduce stress. Qi Gong (pronounced ‘chii gung’) has been practised in China for more than 2,500 years. Here in the San Fernando district of Maspalomas, Qi Gong is practised by the trained specialist lecturer Ulrike Staehr, a Qi-Gong specialist and expert who offers courses at home in Germany to teach beginners and advanced students more than just the three basic principles, which are:
(1) Harmonisation of breathing;
(2) Harmonisation of posture and movement
(3) Harmonisation of the mind.
In traditional Chinese medicine, dynamic balance is the key to health, but it only develops its effect through regular practice.

Many members of the Swiss delegation, consisting of almost 50 women who demonstrably live by the motto ‘NEVER STAND STILL’ and who participated in the Flower Festival for the first time this year, were inspired by the qigong expert and gratefully took her recommendations home with them to practise and pass on to others.
