RUSSIA with Team Gold and now individual double victory


For the first time after a quarter of a century, 3 Europeans were on the winners' podium of a world championship men's all-around final
* Double success for Russia: Nikita NAGORNY wins the bronze medal last year and makes thid year his compatriot in second place, Artur DALALOYAN to the former world champion. Olympic silver medalist Oleg VERNIAIEV wins the very first World Championships medal for Ukraine with bronze, having finished fourth in 2014.
At the las final day Nikita Nagorny won his second gold medal at the vault final and ist the most successful athlet of men's competions.
Bad luck, however, was once again the ex-world vice-champion and world champion of 2017, China's XIAO, Ruoteng, who lost victory chance and medal on the last rotaion on high bar and finished fourth, followed by his compatriot SUN, Wei and the only Japanese in the final, Kazuma KAYA, who won on parallel bars bronze - the only one medal for Japan!..
* At the final days in Stuttgart there were some big surprises at the apparatus ...

* WOMEN's ALL-AROUND FINAL


Glorious expected start-finish Victory for Simone BILES (USA), who won her 5th World Championships all-around title and thus her 16th Worlds gold confidently at the AA-Final final in Stuttgart today. With a dream score of 58,999 never reached at world championships, she defeated China's TANG, Xijing (56,899) in the silver Rank with a 2-point advantage. For Russia's European Champion Angelina MELNIKOVA (56,399) remained the bronze medal. Behind the vice-world champion of 2017, the Canadian Elsabeth Black and last year's fourth Nina DERWAEL (BEL), Germany's record champion Elisabeth SEITZ finished sixth in the best competition of her career (55,999) - the best since 1987 (Dörthe Thümmler in Rotterdam) WCh all-around placement by a German gymnast; and with Germany's Champion Sarah VOSS in 10th position, the German gymnasts again brought two female athletes to the top ten in the world after 2017 !!

According to the qualification rounds of the women, now the men will also be in the significant Olympic qualification starting Sunday + Monday (6-7 October).
Since the last Worlds (2018, Doha) so far only the medal trio China, Russia, Japan for the Olympic Games 2020 is fixed:
The other 9 of the total eligible countries are now being rehearsed in Stuttgart. As with the women, this is also about 8 team final places, the entry of the 24 best all-around-fighters in the individual final and each of 8 finalists on the individual apparatus.
* Team Russia leads after day 1, but also after day 2, followed by China and Japan. Also Ukraine, Great Britain, Switzerland, USA and China Taipeh are qualified for the teamfinal on Wednesday ...
* Because the team of the Netherlands fell back to 19th place, Team Germany scored with only half a pointin fromt of Italy in the last moment the Olympic qualification on 12th place ...

From Friday, October 04 on the women will determine at their 40th World Championships
→ the 8 best teams for the team final on Tuesday (Oct.10) ,
→ In the Olympic qualification, the nine remaining places of the total of 12 eligible teams for Tokyo 2020, as well as
→ in the individual competitions the 24 best all-around fighters for the AA- final and
→ the top eight finalists for the decisions on the individual apparatus.

* The qualifying rounds were only completed on Saturday (05.10) after the 12th subdivisions with the clear leadership of defending champion USA. With the US Girls also China, Russia, France, Canada, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Italy are qualified for the team final. Germany fails because of rank 9 scarce, but realized as a minimum target the successful Olympic qualification. With a sensational score of 59.432 Simone BILES leads the all-around score, followed by her compatriot Sunisa LEE (57.166) and Melanie de Jesus dos Santos from France. Germany's Elisabeth SEITZ is again among the top ten all-around fighters and has medal chances in the uneven bars final ...
