Pistoia, the capital of the Tuscan province of the same name, is currently the centre of attention for grassroots gymnastics in Europe: With the European Gym for Life Challenge and EUROGYM 2026, two major international events organised by the European Gymnastics Federation are taking place simultaneously: whilst the European Gym for Life Challenge began on 9 July, EUROGYM 2026 has now also kicked off on 12 July:
The 15th edition of the event was expected to attract over 4,200 participants from 21 countries.
Groups comprising participants aged between 12 and 18 are eligible to take part. The programme includes workshops, city performances, evening performances and numerous international encounters.

The focus is on cultural exchange, shared experiences and the joy of movement – entirely free from any competitive element.
In total, Germany is represented at both events by 25 groups comprising 644 participants and 71 supervisors.
