First World Cup Final of Sports Acrobatics

To the first time in history the FIG will organize a world cup final of sports acrobatics. This event will held in Krasnodar, Russia. Host is the organizer of the worldwide wellknown tournament 'Vassili Machuga'.
The event days will be April 11 and 12..

Vera Atkinson - British Press Chief of BAGA

Men’s Four - Stuart McKenzie, David Scott, Barry Hindson & Scott Patterson - Deerness Valley, Coached by Stewart Thompson & Vladimir Pozdnikov. 2002 World Silver medallists
Mixed Pair - Lisa Hobby & Patrick Bonner- Spelthorne - Coached by Vladimir Makarchenko & Alison Cooper. Bronze medallists at the World Games in Akita’01 and at the 2002 World Championships in Riesa, Germany
Men’s Pair - Carl Morritt & Christopher Jones - Deerness Valley, Coached by Karl Wharton. 6th at the 2001 World Games and 7th at the 2002 World Championships.

Since IFSA (the International SACRO Federation, founded in 1973) merged with the FIG (the International Gymnastics Federation) in 1999, Sports Acrobatics has enjoyed a very quick worldwide development and aims (hopefully!) for Olympic recognition. It is led by Dr Pat Wade GBR - Chairwoman of the FIG SACRO Technical Committee.

The Opening Ceremony will take place on Friday, 11th April 2003 at 19:00 hours local time in the Machuga Hall, Krasnodar, followed by very spectacular and dynamic Finals on Saturday, 12th April (14.10- 16.45 hours local time).

'It’s a great success for us to qualify for three of the World Cup Finals events in Krasnodar, and proves why GB is one of the most respected nations in this sport. However, I don’t think our supporters expect us to come back home from Krasnodar on Sunday 13th April empty handed and we shall do our best to justify this in spite of the fact that winning medals amongst the 'cream of the cream' in the world is anything but easy,' says Matei Todorov.
