The 17th edition of the quadrennial Asian Games is scheduled to take place from September 19 – October 4, 2014 in Incheon, South Korea.
The city was awarded the right to host the Games on April 17, 2007 when it defeated Delhi, India, and made this the third city in South Korea to host the Asian Games after Seoul (1986) and Busan (2002).
At their 29th General Assembly held this month in Guangzhou, the Olympic Committee of Asia (OCA) postponed deciding on the Incheon Games sports programme until the Executive Board meeting in Oman in December.
