12th WORLD GAMES 2025

Since Thursday, August 07 up to 17 the 12th World Game2 2025 have been taking place in the Chinese megacity of Chengdu, home to 20 million people, and thus for the first time in China. It is the most important multi-sport event for 35 non-Olympic sports, but for the third time in the history since 1981 this multi-sport event is a guest in Asia. The remaining 1,000 participants will be divided as follows: 400 participants in disciplines determined in consultation with the Host City, 400 participants from disciplines determined in consultation with the IOC and 200 participants from para disciplines that are not included in the programme of the Paralympic Games, determined in consultation with the IPC.

♦ Gymnastics sports are traditionally part of the programme in Chengdu, with disciplines including trampoline (double mini / synchronised / tumbling) as well as acrobatics, aerobics and parkour. From 2001 (Akita / JPN) until most recently in 2022 in Birmingham / USA, rhythmic gymnastics with individual apparatus was also part of the World Games, but is no longer included in the programme.
