8th World Cup Rhythmic Gymnastics: Italian group and Kanaeva on Top!

The 2nd edition of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastic WORLD CUP COMPETITION Pesaro 2010 and to the 2nd International Junior tournament “Città di Pesaro” took place this weekend in Italy, in Pesaro, from 28th to 29th August 2010, whereas the 2nd International tournament “Città di Pesaro” will be reserved to Junior gymnasts.

After the stations from Montreal (February) to Minsk (May) it is the number eight world cup event of the 2010 circuit, but the last and a very important event and a dress rehersal four weeks before the 2010 World Championships in Moscow at the end of September.

Altogether 79 gymnasts representing 30 different nation (without Japan and USA) - that is a big field of worldwide top gymnasts, which used this event in preparation of the upcoming world championships at the end of September in Moscow.
Once again Russia's Evgenia KANAEVA seens unbeatable and won the all-around event with a score of 116, 325 inspite of a small mistake with the ball, but with top scores with all the other three apparatus. Only her teammate Daria KONDAKOVA (113,075) reached the top score with rope (28,85).

Best of all-around at Saturday was the group of host ITALY (55,759) with the top scores of both disciplines.
On second came BELARUS (55,500), followed by ISRAEL (51,775), Germany (51,075) and Hungary (49,600).
These five bations are also qualified for both finals.
Each one final place went to Bulgaria (6.), China (7.), Switzerland (8.), Greece (9.), Japan (10.) and Ukraine (12.)
