15th ASIAN GAMES: Rhythmic Gymnastics All-around Decision

Last weekend was held the Rhythmic Gymnastics competition of the 15th Asian Games in Doha (Qatar).
Best of all-around was the 24 years old Aliya YUSSOPOVA from Kazakhstan with a total score of 63.925.
On second place came the Japanese Yukari MURATA. She scored 59,125, followed by the Chinese XIAO Ming with 58,525.
Altogether 21 gymnasts from 11 different Asian countries took part at this event. The Asian Champion Yussupovaunderlined her status as the continent’s undisputed No1 rhythmic gymnast with superior performances in each of the four events: rope, ball, clubs and ribbon....

Aliya YUSSUPOVA (KAZ) - gold medallist in Doha

The 24 year-old YUSSUPOVA didn’t quite match the blistering figures she registered yesterday in helping Kazakhstan to both the team gold and qualification for today’s final, but she still scored the highest marks in every discipline to win by a massive margin of almost five clear points.

None of the 21 other finalists managed a 16 point score – and only two competitors hit the 15+ mark:
Japanese silver medallist Yukari Murata, who scored 15.000 in the clubs, and bronze medallist
Xiao Yiming of China, who totalled 15.550 with the ball.
