positive case of presence of canabis
came
out after the doping controls carried out in Paris (FRA), at the
World Cup event "France Telecom", held in October 2002.
This case was attributed to the Spanisch gymnast and Olympic Champion Gervasio
Deferr. This pronounced the biggest Spanish Sports newspaper "Marca", today. The newspaper cites tne chairmann of the medical commission of FIG, Mr. Michel Léglise, that further information will be released after receiving the results of the second analysis. |

German Champion on floor 2002 and German all-round champion 2000 Sergej
Pfeifer had been operated last week on knee. So the 25 years old gymnast from TK Hanover cannot start at the coming three world cup events in Paris, Coottbus and Thessaloniki. Deutsche Mehrkampfmeister 2000, Sergej Pfeifer (TK Hannover), musste sich
in Hannover einer Knieoperation unterziehen. Bei Pfeifer bildete sich immer wieder ein Fettkörper der nun entfernt wurde. Der 25-Jährige Deutsche Bodenmeister 2002 fällt mindestens 4 Wochen aus, und wird somit auch nicht an den Weltcup-Turnieren in Paris, Cottbus und Thessaloniki teilnehmen können. GYMNAST reported, that U.S. champion Tasha Schwikert, who underwent
surgery in December, performed on four events this past weekend at the
Vegas Cup. Schwikert, a 2000 U.S. Olympian and the 2001 and 2002 national champion, missed last year's World Championships due to a lingering leg injury. The American Cup champion of 2002 plans to defend her title this year on March 1st this year. |

In was also a hearty met of the former worldstars of artistic gymnastics Larissa Klimenko-Petrik, Olympic champion on floor 1968 in Mexico-City and the silver medalist (vault) Erika Zuchold from Leipzig. aspirants between the ages of 14-19 yrs. an take place from January 9
to 13. Gymnastics Competition will be held at the State Sport Centre, which is located at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush Bay. >> The Japanese brothers Kazuki (53,65) and Hidetoshi Mizutori (53,25) won the men's all-around competition. >> Monette Russo from Australia won the women's all-around with a score of 36,10. > The winners of the team competitions of artistic gymnastics are: > Girls Teams: 1. Australisches Olympisches Jugend Festival mit 1.400 Teilnehmern in 14
Sportarten für die Altersgruppe der 14-19-Jährigen. An den Turn- und
Gymnastikwettbewerben im Olympiapark von Sydney, Homebush, nehmen Canada,
China, Japan, Neuseeland und die USA teil. > Das Brüderpaar Kazuki (53,65) und Hidetoshi Mizutori (53,25) errang einen japanischen Doppelsieg im Mehrkampf der Jungen. German women's team of artistic gymnastics started from January the 1st on
the special training camp for the world championships in Anaheim (August
2003). Thirteen gymnasts from eight different German clubs will work from now on two weeks in Cologne, at the German Highscholl of Physical Culture "Deutsche Sporthochschule", which is also the home of the TURNTEAM TOYOTA Cologne, folowed by one week training at the different home clubs of the athletes. verantwortliche Trainerin Dr. Petra Theiss
in Köln mit einem hochmotiviertem WM- Kader von dreizehn Athletinnen die
unmittelbare WM-Vorbereitung des deutschen Frauenturnens. Im August in
Anaheim wollen sich deutsche Turnerinnen mit einem Platz unter den
Top-Zwölf wieder für die Olympischen Spiele qualifizieren, die zuletzt
2000 ohne deutsche Beteiligung stattfanden. Dazu steht den Sportlerinnen ein hochkompetentes Trainerteam an der Sporthochschule Köln zur Verfügung, für das nach 8 Jahren Unterbrechung auch wieder die Berliner Choreografin Angelika Keilig-Hellmann gehört... >> ... mehr dazu |
