WM-Fazit: RSG-Festspiele mit Solistin                                     english

Es waren außerordentlich stimmungsvolle Weltmeisterschaften, die dem lebendigen Charakter der Metropole Madrid in vielerlei Hinsicht entsprachen – insofern kann man sich als Gast hier durchaus Olympische Spiele 2012 vorstellen. Allein das Publikum wäre unvergleichlich... Die Olympia-Bewerbung Madrids ermöglichte es überhaupt, in so kurzer Zeit eine WM noch aus dem Boden zu stampfen.
Dafür, dass die Organisatoren eine wahre Sprintleistung hinlegen mussten, war die WM nahezu perfekt – und selbst unter „normalen“ Bedingungen immer noch sehr gut.
Kompliment den spanischen Ausrichtern!

Auch der FIG darf man ein Kompliment machen, so häufig geschieht das ja auch nicht... 
Der kürzlich berufene Kampfrichterpool bestand seine Feuertaufe und wurde ziemlich einmütig gelobt. Und als dann im Mehrkampf die Entscheidung um Bronze zwischen Jerofejewa und Peycheva doch viele Fragen offen lies, reagierte das Technische Komitee unter Leitung von Frau Egle Abruzzini sofort: Nach gründlicher Analyse aller Wertungen verhängte das TK eine rote Karte (das bedeutet Ausschluss aus dem Pool!) gegen eine ukrainische Kampfrichterin und verwarnte drei weitere Jurorinnen mit Gelb. Das ist Konsequenz, die so mancher dem Gremium nicht zugetraut hätte. Diese Haltung könnte nun doch den Weg zu einer objektiveren Bewertung zu öffnen.

Die WM hätten zum Schluss durchaus diese Bezeichnung tragen dürfen: 
Der 18jährigen gelang fast der komplette Triumph, nur durch den „traumatisierten“ Reifen, der ihr seit dem Olympischen Finale immer mal wieder davon rollte, wurde das verhindert. Sie wird gern als Ausnahmegymnastin bezeichnet, und das ist sie auch. Keine andere erreicht im Moment ihre Präsenz auf dem RSG-Teppich. Ihre außergewöhnliches Bewegungstalent und mittlerweile auch ihre Professionalität ermöglichen es ihr, immer neue Herausforderungen zu meistern.

Ebensowenig ist kein Deut an der Überlegenheit der Russinnen insgesamt zu rütteln. Bulgarien, jahrelang zumindest als Mannschaft fast von der Bildfläche verschwunden, ist in enormem Aufwind und hat in Simona Peycheva nicht nur eine dreifache WM-Medaillengewinnerin, sondern auch eine der expressivsten Gymnastinnen überhaupt.
Die deutsche RSG steckt nach den Olympia-Erfolgen in einer Krise, das war nun beim besten Willen nicht mehr zu übersehen. Die 14jährige Olga Lukjanov schlug sich tapfer, ihr ist kein Vorwurf zu machen. Aber Platz 28 ist nicht das, was man sich als Verband wünscht, wenn man jahrelang unter den top ten mitgemischt hat. Hier wird nur konsequente Nachwuchsarbeit auf lange Sicht Abhilfe schaffen können.

Eine andere Krise wurde nicht beim glänzenden WM-Finale, wohl aber bei Mehrkampf und Qualifikation sichtbar: Der Rückgang der Mannschaften von 38 im Jahre 1999 auf 29 bei dieser WM sollte die Alarmglocken schlagen lassen. Denn nicht die politischen Umstände (vier Verbände sagten aus diesen Gründen ab), sondern vor allem ein allzu schwieriges Reglement führte dazu, dass viele Verbände keine Mannschaften mit entsprechendem Niveau mehr bilden können. Und dieses Reglement ist in seinen Wertungsvorschriften teilweise so "verquer", dass es danach eben korrekt ist, eine Übung auch mit Gerätverlust höher zu bewerten als eine perfekt vorgetragene...
So hat das Technische Komitee um Frau Abruzzini, das sich in der Kampfrichter-Frage so erfreulich konsequent verhielt, noch mehr als genug zu tun...

WM-Result: RG-Festival with soloist

It have been extraordinary atmospheric World Championships corresponding with the lively character of the metropolis Madrid in various aspects – being a guest you can imagine quite well the Olympic Games 2012 taking place here. Simply, the audience would be incomparable... Only the application for the Olympic Games by Madrid enabled to organise and hold WCh in such a short time.
The WCh were almost perfect considering that the organisers had to do a real sprint performance – and even under „normal“ conditions they were still very good.
Compliments to the Spanish Hosts!

One can pay compliments to the FIG, too, what does not happen very often... 
The recently formed pool of judges has proven its accuracy and was praised by almost everyone. When the decision for all-around bronze between Erofeeva and Peycheva left plenty of questions unanswered, the Technical Committee led by Mrs Egle Abruzzini reacted immediately: After a thoroughly done analysis of all scores the TC gave one Red Card (that means exclusion from the pool!) to an Ukrainian judge and warned three further jurors with Yellow. That is consequence unexpected by many. Now it seems possible that this attitude could guide the way to a more objective judging.

At the end the WCh could have been called this way: The 18-year-old almost managed the complete triumph, this was only prevented by the „traumatised“ hoop which rolles away since the Olympic final from time to time. Commonly she is called an exceptional gymnast, and that is what she is. At the moment there is no other gymnast who achieves a presence like hers on the RG carpet. Her extraordinary talent to move and now her professionalism, too, enable her to master new challenges again and again.

The superiority of the Russians is just as little to question. Bulgaria, that had almost completely been disappeared as team for years, is doing excellently and has in Simona Peycheva not only a triple WCh medallist, but even one of the most expressive gymnasts.
The German RG is in crisis after the Olympic successes, this could not be ignored with even the best will any more. The 14-year-old Olga Lukjanov competed bravely, there is no reproach to be done to her. However, place 28 is not what is wished by the federation when one had been present among the top ten for years. Only a consequent work with young talents can lead to a long-term improvement.

An other crisis became evident – not in the excellent WCh final, but in the all-around and the qualification: The decreased number of participating teams from 38 in the year 1999 to 29 at these WCh should be seen as an alarming sign. For not only the political circumstances (four federations withdrew because of this reason), but above all a much too difficult code had as its consequence that a high number of federations are not able to form a team with an equivalent level. And this code is in its judging rules partly so "queer", that it is correct to give a higher score to a routine with a loss of apparatus than to a perfectly performed one...
Thus, the Technical Committee around Mrs Abruzzini, that fortunately proved to be so consequent in the matter of the judges, will have more than enough to do...
