To the first time in history the FIG will organize a world cup final of sports acrobatics. This event will held in Krasnodar, Russia. Host is the organizer of the worldwide wellknown tournament 'Vassili Machuga'.
The event days will be April 11 and 12..

Carisa Laughon, the Program Director of Sports Acrobatics (USA Gymnastics) informs, that the United States will not be sending a delegation to this year’s Acro Cup Albershausen (at the end of April). 'With the uncertain world situation and possible war, our athletes are hesitant to travel outside of the country. In addition, our federation’s President has instructed that no international travel be permitted at all if war begins with Iraq', so Carisa Laughon wrote.

The German Men's group of sports acrobatics is qualified in th official FIG world ranking list for the 1st World Cup Final, which will take place in Krasnodar in 2003, April 11-12.

The German aspirants for the coming European Championships this year in Zelona Gora (Poland) started their training camp in Pfungstadt/Germany. At the beginning of this course all participants signed the 'APPEL for PEACE' and stand up for peacefull answers of worldwide conflicts!
The German President of Sportsgymnastics, Mr. Kurt BECKER - just arrived from the USA (session of technical committee) - said at the opening, that more and more people also in USA advocate for peacefull ways. >>...

Sports Acrobatics

One of the most successful German sports acrobats, Cornelia NIENY from Schwerin ( former from Rostock-Warnemuende) declared her retierement from top sport. The German Sports Acrobatics Federation DSAB said good-bye at the last German Team Championships at the end of 2002.
From now on Cornelia NIENY will work as a judge of sports acrobatics...
