37 Federations traveled to Romania to challenge for the first European titles of the new Olympic cycle, which will held in the Polyvalent Hall - the largest Sporting Event in Romania and started Wednesday, April 19 with the opening ceremony and the men's qualification rounds.
A total of 274 gymnasts are scheduled to compete, 168 male and 106 female gymnasts. Romanian stars like Catalina Ponor, Larisa Iordache and Marian Dragulescu are sure to attract the attention of the Romanian fans. On the international stage they are joined by Olympic Champions Eleftherios Petrounias (GRE), Oleg Verniaiev (UKR), Krisztian Berki (HUN) and Sanne Wevers (NED). Throw in some up-and-coming talents like Ukraine’s Diana Varinska, Russian junior 2016 European all-around champion Elena Eremina and her male 2012 counterpart Frank Baines (GBR), Italy’s Francesca Linari, Switzerland’s Lyn Genhart, Ireland's Rhys McClenaghan and Lithuania’s Tomas Kuzmickas, you are guaranteed an exciting competition!
