For the sixth time since the first European Championships in Frankfurt in 1956, a European Men's Gymnastics Championship will be held on German soil, with Leipzig making its debut, even though the former DHfK men's club of the former GDR was one of the strongest performance centres alongside Potsdam and Berlin and also wrote world gymnastics history with Klaus Koeste's Olympic victory (Munich 1972, vault). This year, many of the 165 current European Championship starters will be competing in their first major competition in the still young Olympic cycle. For other strategists, such as Hannover's Andreas Toba, it is the conclusion of a successful career spanning almost a decade. Under the leadership of new national coach Jens Milbradt, the German men's team sees this European Championships as the first stage of a new build-up towards the 2027 World Championships, where qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles will be at stake ...

- 2010 - gold in Birmingham, silver in Lausanne in 2008 and bronze in St. Petersburg in 1998.
