* Comment - : British men’s team crowned champions of Europe
Great Britain men’s gymnastics team have won their third European team title (- after 2012 in Montpellier and 2022 in Munich) with a dominant display now in Leipzig, Germany.

Led by Olympic stars Jake Jarman, Harry Hepworth and Luke Whitehouse alongside senior major championships debutantes Jonas Rushworth and Jamie Lewis, the British team were near faultless throughout, with routine after routine of brilliant gymnastics taking them to a huge score of 247.528 points for the gold medal.
Although the team victory of the British was highly appreciated, it was also an impressive evening for the silver Swiss team:
The Swiss won a medal for the first time since 2006 again with a cohesive team performance to become European vice-champions, thanks to outstanding specialists (Noe Seifert as best all-rounder - 81.898 points + 5 further final appearances), even if this was not unexpected for the experts, as the generational change had already become apparent in recent years through consistent work with young talent.
And the fact that the German gymnastics team came in fourth behind Italy in bronze place with just -0.2 points is a clear sign of the positive trend in Germany following targeted work with young talent in recent years:
Germany's Nils Dunkel and youngster Timo Eder qualified for the all-around final, Eder and Dunkel remain as parallel bars finalists in the footsteps of former world champion Lukas Dauser and the fact that former champion Andreas Toba reached the high bar final at the end of his career was one of the great emotional moments of this long, long evening of competition in the Leipzig exhibition hall!
Less positive, however, was the almost unreasonable length of over 4 hours of competition (!?), which the continental federation should probably not expect even the most motivated audience to endure again in future!
