English cup victory at the 47th International Leverkusen Cup 2024

In the 58-year history of the oldest European artistic gymnastics tournament of its kind, the 47th International Leverkusen Cup 2024, an English team won the trophy for the third time after 2012 and 2022:
Team England I won in front of 1,300 spectators in the Ostermann Arena in Leverkusen / GER with 96.750 points and a clear lead over the young German selection (91.650) and Team England II (90.900). The best individual gymnast was Tiegan TRAFFORD (ENG; 47.750) in the team with Ema Grace Kandalova and Shanna-Kae Grant.
The trio from Germany in second place consisted of Lucia Bracke (10th / 44.500) from Berlin, Lara Baumgartl (11th / 44.400) from Chemnitz and Frederike Suhl (13th / 93.960), also from Berlin.

This traditional competition with an almost 50-year tradition (!) once again offered an excellent opportunity for young talents to gain important competition experience in front of over 1,300 spectators at its 47th edition, especially at the start of a new Olympic cycle!
Thanks are therefore due to the Leverkusen organisers led by Dieter Schulz, his son Heiko Schulz and the entire TC 72 Leverkusen  organisation team, because this half-century-long tradition alone, with the ever-increasing quality of the events, has a historic and valuable dimension! Chapeau!
!! Teams from the Netherlands (40 participations), who last won the team competition in 2023, and from England (41 participations), who have now won the coveted Leverkusen Cup 2024 for the third time after 2012 and 2022, have participated for almost the same number of years.
Now already on the way to the 50th anniversary in two years' time, we will meet again in the autumn of the World Cup and Gymnastics Festival year - then for the 48th International Leverkusen Cup in 2025.
