The Ukrainia Aliona Kvasha was the winner of the Stelle Sakharova Cup in the Ukrainian capital Kiev last weekend.
Also in men's category the winner was an Ukrainian: Ruslan Mezentzev, on second place came Sergei Vyaltsev (UKR).
Best inall-around juniors category was the European juniors champion on bars, Fabian Hambuechen from Germany.

Two Russians were the winners of the traditional 'Friendship Classic 2003' in Pottsville/Pennsylvania, which was held last weekend.
In seniors category Ekaterina Orlova from Russia was the best with a score of 37,525, on second place came her teammate Alexandra Schevtchenko (37,450), followed by Irina Yarotska (UKR) and the Russian Gulnara Ziganshina.

Maria Kryutchkova (RUS) won in the juniors category with 37,200 points. On second place came Grace Taylor (USA/Aiken) with 35,150 points.

With great sadness, the big international gymnastics family noticed, that Mr. Rolf BAUCH, Honorary Member of the German Gymnastics Federation 'Maerkischer TurnerBund', has passed away yesterday in Potsdam, Germany.
Mr. Bauch, born on October 23, 1927 in Neukirch, was a longtime international judge from 1958 on until Atlanta 1996, an he got in 1998 the Diploma of the FIG for his highest seniority as an international judge.

After his successes of the world cups in Paris-Bercy, Cottbus and Thessaloniki the Bulgarian Jordan JOWTSCHEW is the NEW NUMBER ONE now of the GYMmedia World Ranking List. After Alexei Nemow, leading from the beginning 1996 to 2002, and after Ivan Ivankov (BLR) now Jovtchev is the third gymnast on the top of this ranking.
