2009 US Artistic Gymnastic Nationals: Jonathan Horton and Bridget SLoan are the new Champions

The American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, welcomes the 2009 Visa Championship of Artistic Gymnastics from August 12 to August 15.
The 2009 Visa Championships determines the U.S. gymnastic champions and the national team for each discipline for both the junior and senior elite levels.

Aug. 15 : -- 2008 Olympic silver-medalist Jonathan Horton of Houston came from behind to take the lead in the men’s all-around with a score of 91.250 on the first day of the senior men’s competition at the 2009 Visa Championships at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas and is also the new US All-around Champion after the final, day 2:

Aug. 12, 2009 – John Orozco of the Bronx, N.Y., and Cameron Rogers of Mint Hill, N.C., won the 14-15 and 16-18, respectively, junior men’s U.S. all-around titles at the 2009 Visa Championships at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

2008 Olympic team silver-medalist Bridget Sloan of Pittsboro, Ind., won her first U.S. all-around title at the 2009 Visa Championships at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Sloan, who trains at Sharp’s Gymnastics, came from behind in the last rotation win the title with a score 117.550.

  Thursday, Aug. 13. -- After the first day of competition, Kyla Ross of Aliso Viejo, Calif., leads the junior all-around competition at the 2009 Visa Championships in Dallas, Texas, with a 57.850. The second day of the cumulative junior women’s all-around is Saturday, Aug. 15, at 1 p.m.
