9th EUROPEANS of TeamGym 2012 - FINAL DAY

After the opening on Wednesday,  October 17 and after the two qualifying days in the NCI Arena of the second largest city in Denmark, Aarhus, the final competitions of the 9th European Championships of  "TeamGym" 2012 take place.
As expected, sat down by the senior dominating Scandinavian nations:
Four of the six possible titles of these Europeans won hosts DENMARK.
Only in the female categories of seniors and the juniors are guaranteed the Icelanders the title.
Otherwise, the remaining medals went to Norway and Sweden, one bronze in Finland.
Again even in this continental championship dominated Scandinavia over the "rest" of the European continent, from which it only managed paltry four nations, namely to reach a final, but was one of medals still far away ...

* MIXED TEAMS
Second final for today with the same category – mixed times – but this time with the seniors. The 6 teams competing are: ISL / GBR / FRA / DEN NOR / SWE.
Norway that arrived first 2 years ago is at the moment second qualifier after Denmark, followed by Sweden.
SWE soon takes the lead of this final, obtaining a score of 19.733 points. Their exercise was accompanied by a music with a funny touch and they presented a choreography including precise head moves that looked very good.
But the floor exercise of the Danish team – a superb choreography - is awarded with a better score (20.666). Their performance on trampet is worth 19.600 which allows them to climb on the top provisional rank for the moment but this is without counting Norway who is following closely behind. Everything is still possible with the passage at the last apparatus.
The Danish team is wildly applauded by the audience at its passage on tumbling - before their passage to encourage them and afterwards to congratulate them.
Denmark secures the medal of this final which means a double victory for Denmark this morning.

* WOMEN's Teams:
It is Norway that starts on floor ; NOR that had arrived 3rd of this category in 2010 but was not one of the top three qualifiers (SWE / ISL / DEN = provisional podium of the qualification).
Superb performances were to be seen on floor, in particular the SWE team who presented an incredible routine but also Iceland that is now battling for the supreme title!
It’s done and decided – ISL defends its European title in this category.

* Final results:
1. ISLAND - 59,116
2. SWEDEN - 56,133
3. FINLAND - 50,666

4. NORWAY - 49,616

 * MEN's Teams
The senior men are the last to make the NRGI ARENA vibrate with their stunning performances, the music and the cheering of the audience.
The Portuguese start with the floor exercise. It seems difficult that they can reach the top ranks. The top three qualifiers are the same nations and in the same order of the finals from two years ago: DEN followed by SWE and NOR.
A very last final in a crowded hall where the heat is up. The Swedish fans rival with those from Denmark…
Suspense until the end, however it is finally Denmark that wins gold leaving silver to SWE and bronze to NOR, same as two years ago.
