Karbanenko and Chinese Yang Yilin won French Open

The gymnastics veteran and Russian-born Frenchman Dmitri Karbanenko and China's Yang Yilin won the all-around titles at the French Open Championships, held last weekend in Toulon, France.
Karbanenko (Orleans), who will celebrate his 35th birthday (!) next month), successfully defended his 2007 title over Arnaud Willig (Sotteville).
Benoit Caranobe's 16.550 on vault was the highest score of the day.
With a high score of 16.650 on uneven bars, Yang Yilin narrowly defeated teammate Jiang Yuyuan, the reigning Chinese national all-around champion, for the title in Toulon....
