PREVIEW: FRIENDSHIP CLASSIC 2004

The field is set for the sixth annual Friendship Classic to be held March 19-21 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
Hosted by the Pottsville Gymnastic Training Center- under the direction of Sandy Kost-Sterner and Barbara Kost-Lonergan, this club-run competition, has showcased over 20 different countries in the past and has quickly grown to perhaps the largest international invitational in the United States....
Headlining the FIG elite competition - to be held Saturday evening- is Russian standout Polina Miller who last week captured the bars title at the Russian Cup 2004.......
Ukraine is sending two members of their European Youth Olympic Days gold medal team- Maryna Kostyuchenko and Olga Shcherbatykh while Canada has four national team members participating - Leslie Mak, Nicole Heikkila, Nansy Damionova and Brittnee Habbib.
2000 Olympian Zuzana Sekerova - currently living in Georgia- will represent Slovakia.
<< Making a return trip is Grace Taylor (Photo) of Aiken Gymnastics in South Carolina. Taylor placed second all around in the junior division at last year’s Friendship Classic.
In addition to the elite competition, approximately 900 gymnasts representing 37 clubs will take part in the age group competition.
