The top-class performances seen in the gymnastics disciplines at the Olympic Games are significantly influenced, and indeed made possible, by the state of development of the high-tech equipment used in these sports.
In a constant process of interchange between training and competition, as well as regular exchanges of experience between the world's best gymnasts, clubs and technicians from the world's leading apparatus manufacturers, ultra-modern pieces of equipment have been designed, without which the breath-taking performances on the Olympic podium would not be possible.
Dutch Co. Janssen-Fritsen was the leading trademarks that were in evidence in Beijing:

GYMmedia: --- Which properties should Top Equipment for Top Gymnasts have in order to offer the best conditions fort he athletes?
Jacques Janssen: --- "Homogenity, every piece of equipment, whether used in Greece or in Beijing should be equal, very low vibration times for bars and rails and ofcourse excellent dampening of mats."
GYMmedia: --- What makes the Janssen - Fritsen brand such a successfull brand all over the world?
**- "The properties of the equipment, safe, homogeneous, very low impact on gymnasts bodies and the longevity of the equipment."
GYMmedia: --- At the World Champioships in Gent in 2001 the new vaulting table, your 'Pegases', replaced the old vault foer the first time at a World Championships. What are the innovations that have been introduced since that time by Janssen – Fritsen and what ist he international trend in Gymnastic Equipment innovations?
Jacques Janssen: --- "
The best visible new developments are the 'Apollo Diagonal Floor', a revolutionary new design which offers the gymnasts homogenity over the entire floor surface thanks to the J&F Cross Flex technology and the new generation springbaords 'Iris' and 'Kreon'. T
he Carbon fiber sandwich construction of these boards allows for strength with very little mass, making the effective return of energy to the gymnast very high compared to traditional spring boards. Minimizing body impact ist he major theme in equipment development."
