Tseko Mogotsi: New Chief Executive Officer in South Africa

The South African Gymnastics Federation (SAGF) has announced the appointment of Mr. Tseko MOGOTSI as its new Chief Executive Officer. He will assume the role from tomorrow on (Sep 01) and succeeds Elizabeth Cameron Smith who has retired. The past 8 years have seen Mogotsi fulfill the roles of High Performance Manager, Chief Operating Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer at the South African Gymnastics Federation.
As per Mogotsi, “I look forward to working together with stakeholders of SAGF in building on the foundation laid over many years and to craft a new, and bright, future for the federation”.

Mogotsi’s gymnastics journey began at the tender age of 10 years in the North West Province, as a tumbling gymnast. His tumbling skills progressed over the years, resulting in Mogotsi being crowned SA National Open Tumbling Champion for 15 consecutive years, from 1990 – 2004. In this time he achieved a World ranking of number 1 for Tumbling, won bronze at the 1997 and silver at the 2001 World Games; won Team Silver at the 2001 World Championships and Silver at the 1996 World Championships.

In addition to his athletic achievements, Mogotsi has represented South Africa in many officiating roles such as coach, judge, team manager and board member, enabling him to gain experience in all aspects of sport management.

The South African Gymnastics Federation welcomes the appointment of Mr. Tseko Mogotsi, whom we feel will contribute greatly in terms of advancing the growth of the sport of gymnastics in all its facets in the Republic of South Africa.
