Once again: The next Auditions of Cirque du Soleil

The worldwide wellknown Cirque du Soleil plans once again its next auditions this year:
After Berlin in spring the coming locations will be in London (United Kingdom) and Orlando (United States) in November - December 2003
In 2004, the first city visited will be Budapest (Hungaria) and Las Vegas (United States) in February.
The talent scouts are looking for gymnasts, sports acrobats, trampolinists, tumblers, circus acrobats, martial artists...

XXII. Universiade: Asia strong in Daegu

The artistic gymnastics competiotion of the XXII UNIVERSIADE in Daegu (Republic of Korea) finished today with the apparatus finals.
The Ukrainian Irina Yarotska, fourth of Worlds all-around in Anaheim, was the most successful gymnast. She won all-around, beam and floor final.
Ukraine in women's and host Korea in men's competition were the best nations. Winner of men's all-around was the Korean Yang, Tae-Young on second place came the fourth of Anaheim, Yernar Yerimbetov from Kasachstan.

Monique Nuijten retired

The 19 years old Dutch gymnast Monique Nuijten, member of the European Vice Champion team in Patras 2002, declared her retirement from top sport this week.

With her 14th place in 1998's European Youth Championships of all-around competition the Dutch women's gymnastics climbed up step by step.
Nuijten said, that she have not enough motivation for a high leveled top training, after the Dutch Team is not qualified for the Olympic Games in Athens 2004 (16th place...
