2026 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS OF ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS

For the first time, Croatia is hosting the EUROPEAN GYMNASTICS of Artistic Gymnastics, the 48^th MEN's Edition (August 19-23) taking place in the capital, Zagreb one week after the 47^th Women's ECh edition (August 13-16) and  also at the same time, the European Junior Championships for young gymnasts will be held as part of the event for the 15^th time. The venue is the “Zagreb Arena”, again, which was built in 2008 for the 21^st World Handball Championship and has since become an architectural landmark.

Since the 1^st European Men’s Gymnastics Championships in Belgrade in 1956, the 48^th Men’s Continental Championships will now take place in 2026. (This does not include two trial competitions for a mixed team European Championship featuring rhythmic in Riesa, Germany, in 2021 and in Moscow, Russia, in 2003, the format of which was not continued.) Since the team competition was introduced on a biennial basis at the 22nd European Championships in Copenhagen in 1996, the then UEG had opted for a two-part numbering system, which, however, caused confusion amongst the public.
Chronologically, however, the 2026 European Men’s Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, will actually be the 48^th MEN's ECh edition!
