Biles nominated for 2019 Laureus World Sports Award

Olympic and World Champion Simone BILES from Spring, Texas / World Champions Center is one of six women nominated for the Sportswoman of the Year for the "Laureus World Sports Awards 2019". The sports media of the world selected the most powerful men, women and teams from 2018 as nominees for this these most important international sports awards in the world.
Beside Simone Biles are nominated: Simona Halep (Romania), tennis; Angelique Kerber (Germany), tennis; Ester Ledecka (Czech Republic), skiing / snowboarding; Daniela Ryf (Switzerland), Ironman Triathlon; and Mikaela Shiffrin (USA), skiing. Biles won the "World Sportswoman of the Year" award in 2017 already.
In October 2018 in Doha (QAT), she became the first woman to win the fourth World Championships all-around title - her 14th  WCh gold medal - thus outperforming Vitali Scherbo by 2 titles. The four-time Olympic champion of Rio de Janeiro 2016 is thus the most successful gymnast of all time and fought - like Svetlana Khorkina - so far 25 Olympic and WCh medals.
