21st DTB-Cup: Qualifications in Stuttgart
Today the 21st International DTB-Cup - World Cup - will start with qualification competitions of women and men in Stuttgart. Until to November 30th the world best gymnasts will fight for the world cup points.
8 World Champions from the WCh's 2003 and 5 Olympic Champions have confirmed their participation, lead by three-time all-around World Champion Svetlana Chorkina from Russia.

In the high-quality entry field of the traditional event in Stuttgart can be found:
Vault World Champion Oksana Chusovitina (UZB), Floor- World Champion Daiane Dos Santos (BRA) and Vault Olympic Champion Yelena Yamolodchikova (RUS).
An exciting competition can be expected on rings with World Champion Jordan Jovchev (BUL) - who also is the current World Champion on floor - and Dimosthenes Tambakos (GRE). The field of World Champions is completed by high bar champion Takehiro Kashima (JPN).
Great Britain's star on unveven bars Elizabeth Tweddle (GBR) will fight to get ahead of gymnastics queen Svetlana Chorkina on this event. The delegations from Romania and Russia will arrive with their WCh's medalists Oana Ban, Catalina Ponor, Monica Rosu (ROM / silver) - Alana Slater, Jacqui Dunn, Belinda Archer (AUS / bronze).
Gymnastics Legends
The audience will be thrilled to see again gymnastics-idol Alexei Nemov (RUS) who has already had a few successful events in Stuttgart in the past. The Olympic high bar champion from Sydney who also has won the bronze medal on this apparatus at the WCh's this year is looking forward to another success in Stuttgart.
Further apparatus specialists which are true gymnastics legends will also come to Stuttgart: Leszek Blanik (POL), Olympic Champion 2000 and World Champion 2002 on vault; Marius Urzica (ROM), famous on pommel horse where he is the current Olympic Champion as well as Aljaz Pegan (SLO), who will certainly present another great flight show on high bar.
Also Olympic floor champion Igor Vihors from Lithuania is looking forward to another success in Stuttgart.
Altogether 70 male and 45 female gymnasts from 32 countries will participate in the qualification on Friday. The total price money for this World Cup event is EUR 75,000.
