3rd Intern. Tournament GYMSPORT in Portugal

On the 14th of April 2012, Sport Club do Porto organized its 3rd International Tournament “Gymsport” for female and male juniors ,which took place at the Gymnastics High Performance Centre, in the city of Sangalhos, Portugal. 

On female side the Belgium Beullens Jelle won the junior competition with 49,750 points, followed by the German Finja Safken from Grossburgwedel  on second place (48,300) and  Virgine Ten Voorde (GER; MTV Borstel-Sangenstedt) came on third (48,150).
In the female youth category, Germany's  Evelin Klode (MTVB) tied in the first place with Czech Veronika Cenková from TJSO (47,650) and Spanish Mireia Brugues from Salt Gymnastic Club was third (46,800).

Victory ceremony in Sangalhos, male junior Teams: Hungary won the Trophy!


On male side of "GYMSPORT 2012" , Hungarian national junior team dominated the scene, winning on teams ahead of Portuguese national junior team,  followed by the squad of Italy, represented by the gymnasts from Sanpietrino.

In juniors individual all-around competition three Hungarians captured the podium: Levente Vagner was the best, scoring 80,200 points.
Bank Selmeczi came on second place with 78,800 points, tied by Lazslo Makra.

In male youth category youth Hungary's Boton Kardos won (76,350), and Italy's Davide Sborchia (72,300) and Brian Piva, (both) from Sanpietrino, were second and third.

<< The club’s best female gymnast Zoi Lima, two-time World Cup medalist, has recently been qualified for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

* REVIEW:
During last year´s tournament, Australians predominated at the girls competition, winning the team gold medal, while Emma Nedov and Alexandra Eade won respectively the junior and youth competitions.
Great Britain dominated on boys, winning the team competition, the junior competition by Dominic Cunningham and the youth by Jay Thompson.
