Immediately after the serious accident two weeks ago during the Pre-Olympic training of the 25-years old gymnast Ronny Ziesmer from Cottbus the DTB had opened a provisional donation account whose proceeds will now be transferred to the new account. The German Sports Foundation will assume the administration of the donations account in close corporation with the German Gymnastic Federation.

„What counts for us is to give a perspective to Ronny Ziesmer and his family after the conclusion of the inpatient rehab treatment for his life after the accident and to be able to provide financial support“ the Director of the DSH Gerd Klein und the General Secretary of the DTB Hans-Peter Wullenweber justified their common appeal for funds.
They announced at once further considerations to reach additional proceeds by donations by the organisation of events and other supporting measures.

Hospital, Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin

The physical condition of Ronny Ziesmer is according to the hospital in Berlin (UKB) stable, so he could meanwhile relocated from the intensive care unit to the special unit for spinal cord injuries of the UKB. The diagnosis of the doctors has not changed and it proves that it is expected that Ronny Ziesmer will remain paralysed neck down.
