As every year the Chinese and Japanese Juniors use the Canberra Cup in Australia for the step up into the world of international gymnastics. The Asians were impressive through extraordinary good technical preparation and routine form, in particular on pommel horse, Parallel Bars and High Bar. The winner in 2001 and second last year, Kazakhstan's Yernar Yerimbetov was the all-around winner of the Valery Liukin Invitational, held yesterday in Plano, Texas.
